Alastair Update

Here's what he's been up to lately:

Learning how to feed himself with a spoon and fork. Which is just a new fun way to play with our food and make a mess all over the place.

Exploring the world of homemade instruments.

Playing golf.

He is also becoming exceptionally talented at trying his mother's patience with shenanigans at the table. He is making his taste well known by shoving food away or just spitting it out with an open mouth and quick flick of the head.

To top it all off, it's very unpredictable what he'll like and not like. Little A's food preferences run counter to what other little kids are crazy about like french fries, chicken nuggets and pasta. He'd be happy with a diet that consisted primarily of bananas, baked beans, and broccoli. Plus anything spicy like mango chutney, deli-style mustard, and Andouille sausage.

Don't get too close to my kid; with this kind of food in his belly, it's likely he'll have some pretty wicked gas.

On a side note, ever look forward to something fervently and thereby setting yourself up for only one reality: the fwump! of inevitable disappointment? Makes a girl just want to live in a constant anticipatory state. It's much more fun to wonder "What if?" The possibilities are endless and never disappointing.
