Will you walk a little faster?' said a whiting to a snail,
'There's a porpoise close behind us and he's treading on my tail.
See how eagerly the lobsters and the turtles all advance!
They are waiting on the shingle -- will you come and join the dance?
Will you, won't you, will you, won't you, will you join the dance?

"You can really have notion
How delightful it will be
When they take us up and throw us,
With the lobsters, out to sea!"
But the snail replied, "Too far, too far!"
And gave a look askance -
Said he thanked the whiting kindly,
But he would not join the dance.
Would not, could not, would not,
Could not, would not join the dance.
Would not, could not, would not,
Could not, could not join the dance.

"What matters it how far we go?"
His scaly friend replied,
"There is another shore, you know,
Upon the other side.
The further off from England
The nearer is to France -
Then turn not pale, beloved snail,
But come and join the dance.
Will you, won't you, will you,
Won't you, will you join the dance?
Will you, won't you, will you,
Won't you, won't you join the dance?

Goodbye, my friend. Happy trails until we meet again.

Goodbye, Alabama. It seems so strange and modern to say this, but without ever meeting you face to face, you have had a profound effect on my life. You will be missed dearly.

I hope that your blog, into which you put so much time and love, will stay on for a very long time.

I just wanted to say goodbye to someone who inspired me to get back to my art passion, to not be afraid of reaching out to the world, and that being a mommy didn't have to mean losing track of myself. Small things that Amanda said to me had a big impact. Goodbye, Ms Pink.

To her family: I'm so very sorry for your loss.

I'm but one of hundreds of those web-friends she may have never met in person, but who are missing her too. I hope that at some point, knowing this will bring some joy to you and your son.

It is the worst of news, the worst of times. I can only think of you, and wish your family the best. We all miss you and love you and...

... I can't say anymore. It's just too hard.

Amanda's voice will be missed by many people. We were lucky to have known her.

Looking back on the memory of
The dance we shared beneath the stars above
For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known you'd ever say goodbye
And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance
Holding you I held everything
For a moment wasn't I the king
But if I'd only known how the king would fall
Hey who's to say you know I might have changed it all
And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance
Yes my life is better left to chance
I could have missed the pain but I'd of had to miss the dance

Love you and Miss you, 'bama

Rest in peace, Amanda. I followed your blog from finding out the diagnosis from Pajiba, I wish I'd commented before now. Your strength, and your damn good sense of humour was truly inspiring. My heart goes out to those left behind. x

Rest well, and rest easy.

To the survived A's; She was a warrior, and you were her armor. I hope now, these words from all of us, can be your weapons against the hurt.
